MASTER JOSE "JOE" C. BORCES
Master Jose “Joe” Borces began his lesson of Karatedo in 1975. He studied under Sensei Norberto T. Alcordo, Founder King Cobra Karatedo Brotherhood (KCKB) and Eskrima of DOCE PARES studied under Grand Master Dionisio Cañete.
In 1976, awarded Champion during 3 rd Regional Karate tournament sponsored by the Philippines Karate Association held at the University of San Carlos gym, Cebu City .
In April 17, 1977 , awarded Champion during Open Invitational Karate Tournament sponsored by Combat Judo Karate Association of the Philippines (COJUKAP) held at the Southwestern University.
In 1978, awarded 1 st Dan Black belt promoted to Karatedo belt by Sensei Norberto T. Alcordo, Founder King Cobra Karatedo Brotherhood and awarded Champion in the 4 th Regional Karate Tournament held at the University of San Carlos gym by the Philippine Karate Association.
In May 18-20, 1978 , awarded Champion in National Karatedo Tournament, held at Cagayan de Oro.
In October 22-24, 1978 , awarded Bronze medalist member of the Philippine Team on 1 st ASEAN Karate Tournament Championship, held Jakarta Indonesia.
In March 5, 1979 , awarded Champion on the 5 th Regional Karate Tournament held at University of San Carlos gym by the Philippine Karate Association.
In 1979, awarded Athlete of the Year 1978 on the 4 th All Cebuano Sports Awards sponsored by Cebu Queen City Lions Club and promoted 2 nd Dan Black belt to Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKO Headquarters, Toledo City .
In August 16, 1985 , awarded Silver Medalist Team Competition on the 6 th National Karate Tournament held at Cebu Coliseum, Cebu City sponsored by Philippine Karate Association.
In October 5, 1985 , awarded Team Overall Champion on the 1 st Visayas Karate Association Regional Open Karate Tournament, held at Aznar Coliseum, Cebu City and as Team Captain of King Combra Karatedo Brotherhood sponsored by Central Visayas Karatedo Association (CVKA) .And Promoted 3 rd Dan Black belt to Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKO Headquarters, Toledo City .
In November 8-10, 1990 , Master Borces awarded Bronze medalist (80 kg. Mens Division) on the National Karatedo Championship (KASALI 90') held in Rizal Memorial Coliseum, Manila sponsored by Philippine Karatedo Federation.
In August 4, 1991 , Master Borces awarded Silver medalist (Open Wt. Mens Division) on the Southern Philippines Open Karatedo Federation, held in Almondres gym, Davao City . And promoted 4th Dan Black belt Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKO Headquarters, Toledo City .
In January 25-27, 1992 , awarded Champion (Sr. Middle Wt. Division) on the 2 nd Eskrima-Kali Arnis World Championship held in Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Manila ; sponsored by WORLD ESKRIMA KALI-ARNIS FEDERATION. Promoted 2 nd Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym Banilad, Cebu City .
In April 16, 1993 , Master Jose “Joe” Borces Founded the KAUSWAGAN SELF-DEFENSE BROTHERHOOD (KSDB )
In 1993, awarded Champion and Special Citation in Eskrima Kali Arnis on the 11 th All Cebu Sports Award, held in University of Cebu , sponsored by The Sport Writers Association of Cebu in cooperation with San Miguel Corporation. And Master Borces promoted 5 th Dan Black belt to Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKO Headquarters, Toledo City .
In April 12 to June 4, 1993 , Master Borces awarded Certificate of Appreciation as an Instructor in Eskrima Kali Arnis Academy , held in Cebu City Public Library Ground Osmeña Blvd. , Cebu City sponsored by Cebu City Sports Commission and NARAPHIL.
In July 25, 1993 , Master Borces promoted 3 rd Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym Banilad, Cebu City .
In May 13, 1994 , Master Borces awarded for the Outstanding Athlete of the Year, held Talamban Sports Complex, Cebu City sponsored by Commission on Education, Family Apostolate.
In February 4, 1995 , Master Borces promoted 4 th Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym, Banilad, Cebu City . Awarded Champion Sr. Middle Wt. Division and awarded Special Citation in Eskrima-Arnis on 13 th All Cebu Sports Awards, held in Baseline, Cebu City , sponsored by the Sports Writers Association of Cebu.
In 1996, Mater Borces promoted 6 th Dan Black belt to Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKOK Headquarters, Toledo City . And Master Borces conducted a Seminar of Doce Pares Eskrima Style held in Berlin , Germany .
In June 8, 1998 , member of the Philippine Team Coaching Staff in 6 th WEKAF Championship held at University of San Carlos Philippines team awarded Overall Champion, And Master Borces promoted 5 th Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym Banilad, Cebu City . Master Borces promoted to 7 th Dan Black belt to Karatedo by Sheihan Bacus MAIIKO H.Q. Toledo City .
In July 27, 1998 , Master Borces is the Chief Instructor Kali-Arnis Self Defense Technique Training Seminar on Barangay Pulisya Laban sa Krimen (BPLK) Program, held at Carcar, Consolacion, Boljo-on and Alcantara, Cebu sponsored by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) by Roberto Abenjero. Master Borces promoted 6 th Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym Banilad, Cebu City .
In 2003, Master Borces promoted 7 th Grade Black belt to Eskrima-Arnis by Grand Master Dionisio Cañete held in DOCE PARES gym Banilad, Cebu City .
Present, Master Jose “Joe” Borces is now 8 th Grade Black belt of Eskrima-Arnis and 7 th Dan Black belt in Karatedo. Master Borces teaching is very practical and actual self defense combination of the art of Karatedo and Eskrima and teach the students good values.
